I live in eastern north Carolina. I have little to no success using lures of any type. I am a meat hunter who hunts public land and doesn’t mind killing a doe for the freezer. I haven’t shot a trophy buck in about 10 years. I’ve tried all kinds of products all kinds of ways. what is your suggestion on getn the scent out there and which ones to use. Thanks for your input.

      Hi Michel!
I would recommend the following products for your hunting needs: Buck Pre Orbital Gland Lure. Buck Tarsal Gland Lure For Buck & Doe Hunting & Doe N Heat. Hunting in the south is a bit different due to the extreme temperatures. When using the Buck Pre-Orbital gland lure in the South the Licking Branch needs to be peeled back about 8 inches then the end need to be crushed. Use no less then 2 eye droppers full on the branch. Feel free to call me at 304-564-4087 on Wednesdays between 8-9 pm EST to further discuss any questions you may have!

I live north of Columbus, Ohio and on my land I have nothing but does. There are several large bucks on the neighbors property but not on mine. We are not even getting them on our trail cam. What lure would you suggest.

To take inventory of bucks in your area I would recommend “Smokey’s Pre-Orbital Gland Lure” to make a licking branch & mock scrape. We are offering a combo package of Pre-Orbital Gland Lure & a very informative book by Steve Sorensen explaining the secrets of using the Pre-Orbital Gland Lure. Let us know if this works for you!

I was wondering if you have a store or only do mail order and internet sales. Where are you located in WV?

    • smokeyadm January 8, 2015 at 2:27 pm Permalink

I do not have a store-front. All orders are mail orders or purchased on location at events. Events that I attend are listed on the website.

    Hi Smokey,

Thank you for great products, and also storing the lures and baits in glass jars. I know it makes a difference in my sets.

I live in VA I’ve hunt all-round this scent works everywhere I’ve been. If it’s not working for you try moving it around different areas where you hunt it works. Thanks Smokey.

how much in the wicked wicks bottle

  12. Jeff Mehrmann July 30, 2017 at 6:39 am Permalink

    Hi Smokey,
With respect to your “Wicked Wicks” product, I have a couple of questions including:
1.) How many ounces are in glass container?
2.) What is the difference between “wicked Wicks”
And the 1 1/4 oz. container of pre-orbital?
3.) Is the consistency like a paste or gel?

Does Steve Sorenson’s book explain how to use your deer lures singularly or in combination with other deer lures?

    • smokeyadm August 1, 2017 at 10:37 pm Permalink

!) there are 4.25 oz in the “Wicked Wicks”
      2) The difference between Pre-Orbital & “Wicked Wicks”, the Pre-Orbital is one single buck & the “Wicked Wicks” is a four buck compound.
      3) The consistency is a liquid-oil base.
Steve’s book covers the usage of Pre-Orbital Gland Lure.
